It all started in 2010 when a group of wine enthusiast got together to form San Francisco’s first fully functional urban winery…

Although wine was being made in warehouses without regular tasting rooms and hospitality centers in San Francisco, there were no wineries in San Francisco where people could go to taste wine, hold events and experience locally made wine. To experience wine, the people of San Francisco and its guests were forced to make the trek up to Napa or Sonoma to receive a California Wine Experience. That all ended in 2010 with the formation of The Winery SF - San Francisco’s first fully-functional winery.

The urban winery concept in San Francisco took off. The Winery SF brings the California wine experience right to San Francisco through its winery, tasting room and event venue. As noted in Sunset Magazine, The Winery SF is not only San Francisco’s first fully-functional winery, it was named one of the Top 100 Urban Movements on the West Coast! This concept caught on and soon other fully-functional urban wineries emerged in San Francisco. Today, several urban wineries exist in San Francisco, with the majority of them located in, what’s known to be called “San Francisco’s Wine Country”, out on Treasure Island.

The Winery SF is dedicated to bringing the California “wine country experience” to San Francisco. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or simply wine-curious, The Winery SF brings wine country to you.  The Winery SF invites you to visit us and experience California’s wine country right in San Francisco through our urban winery tasting room — Winery Collective located at 485 Jefferson Street, San Francisco, CA 94109.
